And they are SO cute. And adorable. With their big eyes and oversized paws and their habit of running into furniture.

Still, I feel a little... detatched from it all. My mother, my sister, even my usually animal-free stepdad are going gooey over them. Me, well, I dunno.

Maybe I just miss Frodo still. I know he was only a cat, but he was MY cat.

And maybe that's it, maybe it's because I know that these aren't my cats. I'll be leaving home in a few years, maybe less, but the cats won't be coming with me. Maybe I know, in my heart of hearts, that it's not a sensible idea to get too attached.

Plus if that little bugger George bites me again he's gonna get wallopped into next Friday...
